Trade-Forex.info editorial outlook, 6 November 2026, 07:01 CET (Europe/Copenhagen). EUR/USD direction: neutral. Neither EUR nor USD is favoured without fresh verified quotes. Horizon: today’s European and US sessions, including the scheduled US jobs release. No October employment result is assumed in this morning assessment.
Published by Trade-Forex.info, operated by KPdesign (CVR 41134194). Today’s useful distinction is between jobs and people. Two employment headlines can move differently without either being a mistake. For a currency assessment, their combined implications matter more than selecting the most dramatic number.
14:30 CET is a release time, not a result
The BLS November calendar schedules the October Employment Situation for Friday, 6 November, at 08:30 Eastern, or 14:30 CET. Both New York and Copenhagen are now on standard time. The current release page checked this morning still reports September, published on 2 October, and identifies the October release as forthcoming. Its older figures must not be presented as today’s outcome.
Our morning position therefore remains a waiting assessment. We have not verified a live exchange-rate feed or a market consensus for the release. A schedule alone cannot tell us whether the dollar will strengthen when the figures arrive.
Why payrolls and unemployment can diverge
The BLS comparison of its two employment surveys explains that the establishment survey measures nonfarm payroll jobs, hours and earnings. Someone holding two payroll jobs can be counted twice. The household survey measures people and labour-force status, including the unemployment rate; a person with several jobs is counted once. It also includes groups such as the self-employed that are outside the payroll measure.
These are different populations, concepts and samples. The household reference period is generally the week containing the 12th; the payroll reference period is the employer’s pay period containing that date. A payroll gain and a higher unemployment rate would therefore require interpretation, rather than an immediate declaration that the report contradicts itself.
Our editorial reading sequence after publication will be to check the reference month, payroll change, revisions, unemployment and participation, then earnings and hours. That is an order for understanding the evidence, not a rule for entering a trade. Revisions belong beside the new month, because they change the starting point against which it is assessed.
The policy backdrop remains mixed
Yesterday’s preliminary Q3 productivity release reported productivity growth of 3.6% and a 0.7% decline in unit labour costs, both seasonally adjusted annualised quarterly changes. Lower cost pressure and stronger productive capacity can influence policy expectations through different channels. That report is already published; it does not supply today’s missing October employment figures.
In her speech published on 5 November, Isabel Schnabel emphasised policy flexibility and warned about persistent inflation risks. These were her reflections, not a new Governing Council rate decision. A US data release must consequently be assessed against the relative Fed and ECB outlook, rather than against the US economy alone.
Intraday scenarios and what would change them
Main scenario: neutral before verified new evidence. Neither currency is favoured. Mixed employment signals, offsetting revisions or conflicting policy implications could keep this assessment neutral after the release.
Down alternative: if employment, pay and revisions jointly support a firmer Fed outlook relative to the ECB, USD could strengthen and EUR/USD could fall. Up alternative: if the combined report points to softer US labour demand or easing wage pressure and a softer relative Fed outlook, EUR could strengthen and EUR/USD could rise.
Verified results, revisions or subsequent policy guidance would change the assessment. These conditional scenarios are not claims about a price reaction already observed. We assign no probabilities, price targets or entry and exit levels.
