Trade-Forex.info editorial assessment, 31 October 2026, 07:06 CET (Europe/Copenhagen). Horizon: the weekly reopening on Sunday, 1 November, and Monday, 2 November. EUR/USD direction: neutral / wait and reassess. Neither the euro nor the US dollar is favoured at this checkpoint. Later-week releases below are calendar context, not predictions of their results.
The clock changes before the evidence does
The forex market is in its normal weekend break. The indicative weekly window resumes at 23:00 CET on Sunday, 1 November, using the Sunday 17:00 New York convention shown in our Forex Market Hours tool. Forex has no single central opening bell. Exact instrument availability, daily breaks and holiday arrangements depend on the broker.
The United States returns to standard time on 1 November. NIST confirms the change at 02:00 local time. Copenhagen is already on CET, so New York will again be six hours behind Copenhagen. An American release scheduled for 08:30 Eastern therefore corresponds to 14:30 CET next week. During the transition week just ending, the equivalent Copenhagen time was 13:30. A saved alert can be wrong even when its American timestamp is unchanged. Source: NIST clock-change rules.
Keep decisions separate from expectations
The Federal Reserve held its target range at 3.75% to 4.00% on 28 October. The ECB held its deposit facility rate at 2.50% on 29 October. These are published decisions from the past week. They do not establish what either central bank will do next. Fed statement; ECB decision.
For EUR/USD, the useful question is whether subsequent evidence changes the expected policy path in one currency area relative to the other. Comparing policy-rate levels alone cannot establish an intraday direction. Weekend headlines can also change the information set before liquid weekday trading returns. This briefing contains no fresh timestamped exchange-rate quote and no numerical exchange-rate forecast.
Next week’s selected calendar
- Monday, 2 November: ECB euro area bank interest rate statistics, listed for 10:00 in its weekly diary. These describe bank borrowing and deposit conditions; they are not a new policy-rate decision.
- Tuesday, 3 November, 16:00 CET: US Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey for September 2026 (10:00 Eastern).
- Thursday, 5 November, 14:30 CET: preliminary US Productivity and Costs for the third quarter (08:30 Eastern).
- Friday, 6 November, 14:30 CET: US Employment Situation for October 2026 (08:30 Eastern).
These are scheduled publications, not released outcomes. Dates, reference periods and Copenhagen conversions were checked against the ECB weekly diary and BLS November calendar. Recheck the official calendars before each event because schedules can change. This is a selected EUR/USD watchlist, not an exhaustive calendar.
Main and alternative scenarios
Main scenario, dated 31 October: retain a neutral assessment through the weekend and review it at reopening and on Monday. No currency is assigned a strengthening bias without verified new evidence. A clock adjustment changes the timetable, not the economic case.
Alternative scenarios: if new evidence supports a relatively firmer Fed path, the dollar could strengthen and EUR/USD could fall. If evidence instead softens the US policy outlook relative to the ECB, the euro could strengthen and EUR/USD could rise. Material policy communication or a significant change in growth and inflation evidence would trigger reassessment. These are conditional interpretations, not observed market reactions or trading instructions.
